The Florence Division of CNR-IIA has been pleased to host delegates of SASMAC, the Satellite Surveying and Mapping Application Center of National Administration of Surveying Mapping and Geo-information of China.
Aim of the visit was to discuss on possible collaborations between the two organizations in the framework of international programmes.
SASMAC is mainly responsible for studying and formulating development plans of satellite surveying and mapping application, establishment, management, assurance of surveying and mapping satellite application system and data processing. Presently, SASMAC is mainly engaged in the construction of application system of ZY-3 satellite, China’s first civilian stereo mapping satellite, studying of key technology of satellite surveying and mapping application, working out application policies and specifications of ZY-3 satellite, formulating development strategies and plans of surveying and mapping satellite, satellite application and emergency surveying and mapping.
